CALIFORNIA WEIGHTS & MEASURES REQUIREMENTS
All California type approved submeters must first be submitted to the California Department of Food and Agriculture's local Division of Weights & Measures for testing and approval prior to installation. California submeters must be installed by a licensed service agency. Guardian's license is #30699. We work very closely with our clients to fully understand their building's plumbing infrastructure before recommending a submetering system that fully complies with Weights & Measures code.
Weights & Measures requires the submeters to be placed in service by a licensed service agency at a location where the resident can easily read the meter at eye level or below. If the meter can not be installed at such a location, remote displays units must also be installed by the licensed service agency. Contact Guardian for more details.
Property owner cannot provide utility service at a profit. Local ordinances may apply. Submetering regulations are subject to change. Contact Guardian Water & Power, Inc. for the most recent submetering and utility billing regulations in California.
